Sudan and ICRC Strengthen Coordination on Humanitarian Efforts

The Sudanese government and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) have reaffirmed their commitment to closer collaboration in humanitarian operations. During talks in Port Sudan, Sovereignty Council member Dr. Salma Abdeljabbar Al-Mubarak assured the ICRC of the government’s dedication to removing obstacles facing relief workers and ensuring smooth delivery of aid.
ICRC Head of Mission Daniel O’Malley, along with senior officials José Luis Pozo and Lilian Angelo, praised the discussions, noting their focus on expanding humanitarian space and supporting Sudanese volunteers working in difficult conditions. He described the meeting as productive and underlined the ICRC’s belief in Sudan’s willingness to cooperate with relief organizations.
