Sudan Vows to Attract Investment and Revamp Infrastructure
Sudan is pushing to attract investors and fast-track major infrastructure projects, the government said. Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Saif al-Nasr al-Tijani Haroun assured business leaders that the state is committed to improving the investment climate and simplifying bureaucratic procedures.
Speaking at a meeting with Sudanese entrepreneurs and Sudan Airways Director General Captain Mazen al-Awad, Haroun said roads, bridges, railways, and air and river transport projects are top priorities. Al-Awad described aviation as a “real treasure,” highlighting opportunities in air cargo, logistics, and ground handling under the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model.
Mohamed al-Nour Sharif, Secretary-General of the National Union of Sudanese Entrepreneurs Abroad, called for stronger cooperation between government, private sector, and civil society to drive sustainable development and build a modern Sudan.
