Vinicius Apologizes to Real Madrid for Angry Reaction After Clasico Substitution
Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior has apologized to the club and its supporters after his visible frustration during his substitution in the 2–1 El Clasico victory over Barcelona at the weekend.
The Brazilian reacted angrily after being taken off in the 72nd minute by coach Xabi Alonso, storming down the tunnel before later returning to the bench. In a message on social media, the 25-year-old admitted his behavior was out of line.
“Today I want to apologize to all Madrid fans for my reaction to being substituted in the Clasico. Just as I have already done it in person during training, I also want to apologize again to my teammates, club and president,” Vinicius said, adding that his emotions stem from his “passion and desire to win.”
The forward emphasized his continued commitment to Real Madrid, promising to “keep fighting every second for the good of the club.” Alonso noted after the match that the issue would be resolved internally within the dressing room.
