Ankara Embassy Highlights Atrocities in El Fasher, Calls for RSF Terror Label
In Ankara, the Sudanese Embassy convened a press conference to expose what it called systematic atrocities by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in El Fasher. The event followed a rally by Sudanese students outside the embassy condemning the killings and urging Turkey and the world to classify the RSF as a terrorist organization. Protesters also denounced the United Arab Emirates for allegedly supporting the militia.
Sudan’s Ambassador to Turkey, Nader Youssef Al-Tayeb, told reporters that the RSF has carried out deliberate massacres amounting to genocide and crimes against humanity. He asserted that Sudan holds undeniable evidence of the UAE’s involvement and appealed for international action to stop the ongoing violence.
The ambassador said more than 200,000 civilians are trapped in El Fasher under siege conditions and that the RSF has committed over 107 massacres, claiming over 2,000 lives. Among the dead were more than 360 patients and medical staff killed in an attack on the Saudi Hospital.
A documentary in Turkish, Fasher’de Gerçekler (“Facts from El Fasher”), was screened during the event, followed by an exhibition of photos and documents showing the extent of the crimes. The gathering ended with a Turkish musical performance, Sudan İçin (“For Sudan”), dedicated to peace and solidarity with the Sudanese people.
