Prime Minister Dr. Kamel Idris has reaffirmed the government’s strong commitment to advancing the agricultural sector, calling it a foundation for national economic progress.

The statement came during his meeting with Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation Prof. Dr. Ismat Qureshi Abdullah, who presented a report on his recent visit to the Northern State to assess readiness for the upcoming winter farming season.

According to the minister, the state aims to cultivate over one million feddans, including 300,000 feddans of wheat and 100,000 feddans of Egyptian beans, as part of efforts to enhance Sudan’s food security.
