Sudan Braces for Severe Weather as Orange Alert Issued
Residents in several Sudanese states have been urged to prepare for severe weather conditions, as the Sudan Meteorological Authority forecasts heavy rains, thunderstorms, and strong winds starting Friday evening. The warning covers southern and central Red Sea, River Nile, Northern State, northern Kassala, and southern White Nile.
With water levels expected to rise rapidly in streams and valleys, the authority issued a high-risk orange alert. Citizens are strongly advised to avoid flood-prone and low-lying areas until conditions improve.
