Sudan Dispatches Technical Team to Assess Industrial Recovery in Khartoum and Gezira

Port Sudan, August 16, 2025 (SUNA) – The Minister of Industry and Trade, Mahasin Ali Yagoub, announced that a specialized technical team has been dispatched to Khartoum and Gezira states to conduct a comprehensive study on restoring and revitalizing the industrial sector.
The Minister explained that the mission will cover most manufacturing facilities in both states and aims to assess the current situation, identify challenges, and design practical solutions. The study will form the basis for a phased program to return industrial establishments to full production, thereby supporting economic recovery and addressing the destruction caused by the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
She emphasized that the effort represents a key step toward achieving sustainable development and rebuilding Sudan’s industrial base.
Meanwhile, Acting Director of the Information Directorate, Emad Khatmi, praised the support of local authorities and industrial stakeholders in facilitating the mission. He noted that the study is being carried out under difficult circumstances but reflects the government’s commitment to implementing the recommendations of the recent Industrial Development Conference. He added that the study will be wide-ranging, covering all sectors of industry and laying the foundation for long-term recovery.
