Sudan Urges UK to Back Peace and Post-War Recovery
Sudan’s Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Dr. Jibril Ibrahim, called on the United Kingdom to take a more active role in supporting efforts to end the conflict and address the severe economic damage caused by the war. He said the fighting has destroyed key infrastructure and disrupted essential public services across the country.
Speaking in Port Sudan during a meeting with the British ambassador, Ibrahim criticized the international community for what he described as insufficient support for Sudan and a failure to clearly condemn the armed groups opposing the government.
The British ambassador reiterated the UK’s commitment to helping end the conflict and emphasized the importance of ensuring humanitarian aid reaches people affected by the war.
